About
The Framework
Contextual Literacy™ is a structured approach to nervous system regulation and emotional processing. It helps you slow down your response, regulate first and build stability before intensity shapes outcomes or gets stored in the body.
The books, guides, journals, and audio sessions are all designed to build stability, clarity, resilience, and long-term change — not dramatic release.
Founder
Michelle R. Gerdes is the founder of Contextual Literacy™ and the author of its core publications. With over a decade of practice in emotional release and applied nervous system work her frameworks are built on field observation, not theory.
This body of work exists because intensity-based models leave too many people stuck — and there’s a better way.
Why This Work Exists
Most emotional work chases intensity. But big release doesn’t mean better results. This framework exists because stability, repetition, and structure produce more lasting change than breakthrough moments — and that’s what the research and the practice both show.
